Univ of Michigan

I have great memories of my time at The University of Michigan. Today, I ran across this picture of me at one of the football games. It was actually my first football game. I had no idea what I was watching. I still have no idea what I was watching. The crowd was fun though.
We had all sorts of fun playing and doing the wave. I can't even remember who won but I don't remember anyone leaving with a sad face.
I do remember the town of Ann Arbor stopping for the game. There was no real choice. There was more spirit there than I had ever seen. I don't know how the team is doing now. One of you out there email me and tell me good news.
If you get a chance to go out and be in a crowd of people cheering, do go an do just that. I don't have tickets to any of the Olympic games but I'll be home cheering. Go get your flag and get ready to cheer your team on. It will make you happy and you will...

Cranford

Cranford
What a wonderful movie. I enjoyed many things about it but mostly, the acting. There are some who really know how to tell a story. Thanks you for entertaining us with this lovely historical piece.
Tonight is the the conclusion of, The Return to Cranford.

Wonderful.... wonderful

Oh, I have much to think about. Well, not really, as things go. I have had a few problems with my mac computer. Since the beginning really, but I will say the company has been wonderful, so far, in making corrections and the problems have been minimal.
I love my mac and really, at this time, miss working with it but I have a great need for a more powerful computer. So, here is where the conflict comes in. I love how mac portable laptops are but the mac desk tops have the power and value I seek.
I keep flipping back and fourth. Today, I have decided to go with the laptop but dare I say that by noon I will have changed my mind back to the desktop.
The good news is that either machine will be a welcomed change and be a positive move in my life. I am glad to be a mac customer and truly only use my pc unless made to. The price of a mac is more severe than that of most pc but I must conclude that you get what you pay for.
I shouldn't be so harsh on the pc but I suppose much of my disdain is coming from prior negative experiences that shut my pc down that I don't seem to have with the mac.
Well, I will continue to waffle about. I will admit I do find joy in debating the pros and cons. I'll get back to it then and ....

Hokey Pokey

I am so excited to show you two of the many rubber stamps that I have created. This particular saying cracks me up every time I see it. I have created some other rubber stamps that I use for my card making. They were fun to create and I used my avatar, Viv, from the online game of Second Life.
I think I love coloring them in once I stamp them the most. I use water colors, colored pencils, and pastels to color.
I find it very relaxing and most of all fun. If it's not fun, why do it? So, go out there and ....

You can purchase all things beautiful on her sims to include instant gardens, plants and incredible trees.
Go to http://slurl.com/secondlife/Serenity Falls/89/73/22/?title=Serenity Falls and be amazed.
Julia also has a wonderful talking raven on that particular sim. It makes me smile and yes it talks ALOT!

My Love

I love creating stamps and coloring them. This is one of my favorites. It is a Sara England stamp. I have a new favorite too. It's the Thomas Kinkade series of rubber stamps. They are absolutely lovely. I purchased the above one today and I'm so excited to use it. I am going to a class tonight to learn how to use all my new Thomas Kindade stamps. Wish me luck.

Imagine if the places in the online game of Second Life were available on stamps. Maybe one day it will be. There is always.... hope:)

Valentine

We are a little ways away from Valentines Day but I have been busy creating cards, notes, and short stories for just that occasion.
As you can probably guess, it is one of my favorite days in the year. I'll share a display of some of the cards I have been working on in another blog entry.
In the online game you can read some of my short stories if you like. If you have the opportunity, don't hesitate to drop by and say, "hi". See you there and....

Loving Second Life

Wow, I am slowly working my way into 2010. So far, so good:) I have been enjoying the people in the online game of Second Life. Everyone has something to contribute to this online community. When I am not exploring and talking in the online game of Second Life, I can be found writing more Adventures of Viv Writer and creating Viv Writer Greeting Cards.
I encourage everyone to find what you like to do and do it as often as you can. If it brings a smile to your face (and it's legal) do it! It's simple really. Go and ....

Into another year

Well, we are into another year. The celebrations are concluding for many of us and it's back to work in a day or so. All in all it was a wonderful holiday spent in rl and in sl. I have enjoyed time with my family and my friends in the online game of second life.
As I look forward to another year and glance back at the blessing from the past I feel grateful and extremely fortunate.
I don't know that I have a resolution for this year that I would share but I will say that it is my hope that all of us will treat others with respect and love. I also hope we all ....

Love Notes

I have been journeying through this process we call life and recently I have been fascinated by my creative friends. I have been so fascinated that I decided to fuse my avatar from the online game of Second Life with some of my paper projects. Above you will see some of my 3X3 Love Notes. You can buy them on Etsy if you would like. Email me if you want to know my Etsy store site address.
I have had the best time creating these little note cards and envelopes. I am convinced that if you find something you love to do, you should do it as often as you can.

Elements of Design

Today in the online game of Second Life I went to a place called, Elements of Design. I saw an ad of theirs in my copy of Prim Perfect magazine. I'm noticing all the good places are further toward the back of the magazine:)
Anyway, I went and found the best furniture! You must go and see this place.
There is a great deal more than furniture there. Clearly, we are dealing with an artist here who knows the ELEMENTS OF DESIGN. Everything is amazing!
There is a pub in the area and its decorated with furniture from, Elements of Design (surprise). On the table in the pub, however, there is a snow globe. I LOVE globes. I would say I collect them but like my special handmade pepper mills, I tend to give them to special friends so I can't say I collect them. I would love to.
The snow globe on the table was fabulous and I simply had to have one. So, I found out who made it and went to that store. What would my lovely eyes see when I arrived? MAGIC! This creative artist designed many snow globes (she even has one globe called "Big Ass Globe" and it really is) and music boxes. I still can't decide which one to purchase.
When I decide I'll show you. Until then....

What a beautifully created kitchen. The kitchen is my second favorite place in the house and this one is very well designed. I love the animations especially. There are so many of them! I just played and played with them. From cooking to eating to just reading the paper, they have put much thought in this creation.
In the online game of Second Life you may want to visit Ambiance Interactive Furniture. Don't you just love CHOICES? I do, so go and....

Zutter

Well, I've been really busy in real life but I want to share my new toy. It's a wonderful binding machine. At first I thought that it was just another binding machine, big deal, but this one is really different and I am filled with many lovely ideas. In another blog I'll have to show pictures of the many books I've created with matching cards. I have made several books based on the online game of Second Life and created matching cards too.

Might I suggest you look at the many youtube videos and see what it's all about. I really think you will like what you see and want one. I do have yet another suggestion. Use a coupon to purchase one from any of the craft stores that carry zutter products (i.e. Hobby Lobby). They are a bit pricey but with a 50% off coupon you will enjoy it even more. Have fun and....

Piece of Peace

What a creative day I've had today. I guess I can't really call it work because I just had too much for to call it that. I went "BOXES". I learned how it make all sorts of boxes.
I think it's really funny that I enjoy creating cards. I don't send out cards. I can't even tell you how much a stamp is. I love creating cards and giving them to people who will actually use them.
So, I continued working on my cards and now I've added bookmarks. I love these bookmarks because I had to go shopping for all the charms. What's funny is I picked the drama and comedy masks. Out of all of the lovely charms, I picked the theatre masks. Go figure.
I also picked a fairy charm. I thought of my dear friend from the online game of Second Life. I hope you enjoy my pictures and ....

Baby It's Cold Outside

It's been a lovely day. It's been very cold where I am but still lovely.
I've been running around shopping and came home and started creating. This year I've decided to create many of my holiday gifts. It's been a great deal of fun. Even creating the boxes the presents go in has proven to be fun.
I must admit I am tasting and eating those holiday calories that I hope will disappear with the holidays (fat chance).
Anyway, I took a nice break from my holiday creating and went for a visit on my favorite holiday sim, Spellbound Woods. I noticed Julia Hathor created new "fallen logs".
I love how naturally beautiful this sim is. Such attention to detail makes me want to visit. Visually this is one of the best sims I've seen in the online game of Second Life and this sim has what is missing in so many other sims and that is.... wonderment and awe.
Spellbound touches the senses, and fills me with positive emotions. I love to visit and I am always inspired to write when I visit.
Come on out and visit Spellbound Woods. Bring a coat because it' cold out here! I've got my skates on so join me and...

The attention to detail is incredible. This is truly done in Julia style. From the wallpaper to the couch pillows, the entire cottage is a work of beautiful design.
If you are in the game of Second Life, please go and see the Snowdrift Cottage. It is located in Spellbound Woods. Maybe I'll see ya there.

The day after

It's the day after Thanksgiving and things were CRAZY this morning. How do I know? I was out in the Black Friday Shopping Crowds.
It has been a while since I decided to go and brave the rough crowds looking for that perfect present. I left home under the blanket of darkness and the first sight I saw was Wal-mart. Cars were waiting to go into the parking lot. Clearly, that was not going to be my first stop. Next I passed Best Buy. There were people camping out and the line wrapped around the store and ended at the parking lot entrance. I said, "Bye bye to Best Buy", as I drove by.
The morning was not a total bust. I was able to get my husband something special. It really warmed my heart to see the number of people out there trying to make their loved ones happy by purchasing some item(s).
I'm sure the items will be appreciated but I hope the receivers really think about more than just the present and focus more on what the present symbolizes.
It's the most wonderful time of year to me because we give love and it's okay:) Go give love and ....

My Lovely Holiday Tree

You are a dear

I really enjoy playing in the online game of Second Life. Recently, a dear friend gave me gifts. I think that is so very special and kind. It made me feel special to receive the gifts and I just have to scream out, "Thank You" to my generous and kind friends who bless me.
I purchase a good amount of items in the online game and for many reasons. I ultimately purchase items because I want to support great creativity and the awe inspiring work the artists put into their craft.
If you are in the online game of Second Life maybe you will consider purchasing your items from hard working, reputable creators. It will be well worth the lindens and you will....

I love Cuttlebug

I have a new toy! It's called the Cuttlebug:) Cute name.
I love what it does. It cuts and embosses. Then the fun part begins for me. I paint! Well, actually I don't know if you would call it painting but I create. That is probably a more accurate statement.
I've made bookmarks, labels, and note cards today.
