soap pops

OMG! I had the best time creating these soapsicles or soap pops.
They look good enough to eat but please don't, because it's SOAP!
I did enjoy creating them but what is wonderful to me is the fact that my family can use them. I can control what goes into these lovely bars of soap. I don't always want a fragrance. Sometimes I wear scented lotion or perfume and on those rare occasions a scented soap, lotion, and perfume altogether can be more than one nose can handle. Can you say scent overload?
Anyway, I never tried goat's milk soap. I am glad to try it. I also love Shea soap. I hope to pick up some olive oil soap tomorrow.
These lovely jumbly bars of soaps will be available in my etsy shop soon so if you are interested in them please click over and buy a few.
On a different note, I continue to count down the days to summer break. We are going through finals week at school and I am very excited for many reasons.
Under different circumstances, giving soap to someone might suggest to some that maybe they need to take a bath but when you get a soapsicle it just seems to say, "What fun?"
Soapsicles.... they are so much fun and they help me....

Stay

Well, I am on point today. I love this song. Roberta Flack is one of my favorite musical artists. I have never seen her in concert and at this point in my life, it's not looking like that is going to happen BUT if I were to ever go to a concert in my life, it would be to see her.
There are only two people I would like to see in concert and she is one of them. You are gonna have to guess the other one and yes they happen to be alive.
Anyway, I really enjoyed putting this video together. In the online game of Second Life, my avatar, Viv, is fun. My avatar is the star of my short stories, The Adventures of Viv Writer. The song in this video actually influenced one of my short stories.

The first time I heard this song I cried..... loudly.
Most of us can relate to this song on some level.

I Like Dreaming

It's a wonderful Sunday evening and I have had the most lovely weekend at the lake with my family. Some might say resting and lolloping about is absolutely no fun but I would be prepared to defend my position.
Well, mothers day and my birthday have come and gone. My duel celebration was lovely as well.
I am so looking forward to the break that summer brings with it. I say it every year and every year it's true, summer break gets shorter and shorter.
This year I have plans. I hope I have the discipline to execute them. Let's see, I'll share this much. I plan to continue writing, The Adventures of Viv Writer. I don't think I'll ever finish and to be honest I don't think I want to. I love the characters I've created, the places and situations I put them in. It's a fantastic adventure to write. I also plan to write a musical for my students. That is an ambitious goal considering I lack a few requirements needed to make this a success. I also plan to eat properly. Ummm seriously, eating during the summer is an issue for me. When working, I don't have time to snack and go out to eat the way I do during the summer.
I love being in the online game of Second Life. I love being in a place where I feel a peace that is so wonderful to create in. My friends in the online game are fantastic and extremely supportive of my efforts. I don't think I've ever had such kind words said to me. The kind words just fuel me and I live on them.
Each summer I spend at the lake I feel that much closer to the beach. Maybe one day I will wake up in my dream cottage at the beach with my typewriter, decaf coffee, and glasses. It's a dream that makes me smile broadly. Even if it never comes true, that dream alone would have made me smile a lifetime. In this case I guess it's alright to dream my life away. It helps me....

Some Dilemma

This has been some week. I am so ready for summer break but I know all too well that summer break goes very fast.
I am doing more crafty things with my students and I am pleased with the results. They are using their imaginations and building up their creative muscles more and more with every project.
I am really excited about a current project that involves atc (actor trading cards). More about this in another blog entry.
I am thinking about heading out to the lake but the comforts of my bedroom seem to be the magnet that won't let me go. What a wonderful dilemma. Go to the lake or stay in my bed :) Either way I think I can....

Kewl Kowls

What a wonderful time I have been having. The weather is beautiful and it's that time again to renew old friendships with those at the lake.
The lake is a wonderful place for me to relax and recharge my batteries. I have just had a great time visiting with everyone.
We shared with each other all the things we had been doing during the winter months. I was pleased to share my Kewl Kowls.
A wonderful friend is modeling one in the picture above. We discovered that these Kewl Kowls are wonderful to wear over a swim suit on those balmy cool evenings at the lake. I got several orders in a variety of colors. I was so pleased they liked them and more pleased that it's something I can make and give to them.
I do sell them in my etsy shop if you are interested. If I must say so myself they are Kewl to have and very comfortable. It's the little things that allow you to....

Relaxing Day

I have been busy writing, what I think is the best chapter in The Adventures of Viv Writer. This chapter, entitled, Turn the Page, is a privatol point for the character Viv.
It has been great writing this chapter. For this chapter I have had the luxury of being in the online game of Second Life and letting my mind create. I visit the virtual beaches and lovely homes that in many ways relax me so I can create.
So far it has been a relaxing day and I hope to continue to create and ....

Mommie means...

This had to be one of my favorite shows growing up. I really enjoyed the acting in this show. What I didn't know until tonight, is that Sada Thompson died May of last year. She was 83.
She was the greatest tv mom ever. She always seem to know just the right thing to say and was always right. Just like my real mom:)
It was a wonderful and ground breaking show. Even though we are several weeks away from mothers day, tonight I just wanted to celebrate the best tv mom ever, Sada Thompson. Rest in peace.
She, along with the outstanding cast, did a grand job. I am sure others would agree the show was worth seeing weekly and thanks to the dvd collection, I can still enjoy great story lines and fabulous acting.

I Love This Stuff

As weekends go, this one was great! I caught up on many things to include some quiet time with my husband. Amongst other things we love to do, we watched movies. One movie in particular was The African Queen.
It's rare to find a movie my husband has not seen but this was one he had not.
Years ago I had seen it. My father who is now close to 81 years old told me it was a great movie. We watched it together. I agreed it was a great movie but what I couldn't get over was that this very romantic movie was a favorite of his. I still can't get over that. You would have to know my father to appreciate that one.
Anyway, fast forward many years later and I watched the movie again but now I not only think the movie is great. It is a beautiful movie. Along with The African Queen, there is a movie called. "Bogie" that I watched and rather enjoyed. It gave me better insight into the lead actor. I found out that Bogie loved the water about as much as me.
My love of the ocean is great and when I try to articulate my passion for ocean, I can't. Bogie says it best in the above piece. What a wonderful life he had and I am sure he knew it. Just seeing him on the ocean reminds me of how I feel when I am there. It's just one of those things that helps me....

Write On

In the online game of Second Life, things are really great. I have had the luxury of spending time with good friends. What I still find wonderful about this virtual world is the people you get to connect with daily.
I have been able to write in a wonderful environment that feeds my creativity. I just love this virtual world. I hope I never have to say goodbye to it. I would miss it incredibly.
Anyway, I must get back and continue writing and creating. Go find something that makes you say, "yeah". You will find that it helps you....

A Comforting Song

I love this song, "Mother in the Dream" and this little boy does a wonderful job singing it. When I first heard this song I did not understand the words he was singing but I could feel what he was singing. Sounds strange? Yeah, I would agree but it's the truth. To me the song is touching and somehow comforting.
Later I found the English translation. Indeed the words were touching and comforting.
The little boy singing is an eleven year old orphan. He says that he sings this song when he misses his mother. I think the songs gives him comfort too.
It's interesting how a song with words I don't understand can touch and comfort me. This song helps me....

"In the stillness among the vast lands
I dream of Mother praying for me
She looks afar and gives precious milk to the heavens
As offering for my well being
My Mother, so far away
So far away
Stars twinkle above the grasslands
While in my dreams I see Mother's caring face
As she prays to heavens to wish me godspeed
My Mother, so far away
So far away
In my dream is see Home basking in golden sunbeam
While Mother softly sings and enchantling melody
There in the grasslands lies my everlasting home
My dearest Mother, wait for my return"

Card Challenge

My friend Roxy is doing a card challenge on YouTube. I have been participating in the challenge and have had a great time doing so.
I must confess, I am not a card maker but would love to some day be able to make beautiful cards.
Have you taken a look at how much cards cost today? Yes, making cards is not a bad thing to do. I also love the personal touch and attention to detail that is given to each handmade card.
So, with that said I have been participating in this challenge and hope to continue to do so until it runs it course.
I hope you like the cards I have made. If you want to make some cards and need some materials to create with, head on over to my etsy shop and get you some blank cards and tags. They are there ready to be altered and embellished. Come on out and play. I am sure you will....

Could it be?

OMG!
Could a celebrity of a certain status go undetected as mentally ill?
Could a celebrity of a certain status commit suicide and others call it accidental drowning?
Could a celebrity of a certain status be so unhappy that they turn to drugs and such to escape their own reality?
Could the evidence that supports all of these questions be right in front of someone and go ignored?

Just questions .... really.

I had a great dinning experience tonight. I was not sure what to expect but I was so pleased with my dinner choice.
After seeing Ramen Girl I must admit I have not looked at ramen soup the same. Tonight this soup was outstanding.
I had never tasted soup this good. It was Udon soup.
It did take some time for them to prepare. It was not soup they just threw together. I was really glad it was not fast food. It was well worth the wait.

Return to My Lair

Today I did return to my lair. I spend wonderful "me" time there. Mostly I "piddle".
As I worked on different projects and went about creating, I thought about all sorts of things going on in my life. I decided that during certain periods of my life I am more creative.
If the scale is tilted toward being sad, upset, or just plain out of it, then I create the most interesting, and clever things. This logic seems to hold true with my writing too.
So, while the scale is clearly on the down side, my creativity is rising. Don't really know how I feel about that. I suppose the good news might be that life is about change and if we hang on long enough the scales with change.
Now, that is something to smile about and a reason to....

How Sad I Am Today

I can't tell you how sad I am. There are not units to measure it by.
Today I found out my dear, dear friend was killed. I can't express how shocked and empty I feel.
The only thing I know to do is to reach for things to help me through. My faith, my husband, and family (in that order). I have wonderful and lovely memories but it's so hard to think about those now. I can't see past the fact that they are gone. Such an empty space that can never be filled.
Only time will help me .... I think.

Drawstring Muslin Bags

I was inspired and motivated to create these lovely muslin drawstring bags by Robin from You Tube.
I lovingly call You Tube, "UTube University". I learn a great deal there but I am also inspired by so many.
Today I wanted to give credit to her for the inspiration.
In creating these treat bags I simply used muslin, my favorite stamps, flowers, lace, ribbon, and trim.
The uses are many but I hope to stuff these bags full of chocolate candy to give to friends. I love giving things to make people smile. In turn it makes my spirit smile and that helps me ....

Awesome!

Today was AWESOME! The day started off with church. I went to the 9:30am mass. I was so pleased. I love when I understand things clearly and my intentions are always to remember the lessons and execute them as I go through the life.
Next, I went to help someone understand the "in's" and "out's" of Etsy. This online handmade store may not be for everyone but I like it and I think it's fun. You have to find what works for you and do that. I had fun explaining things and they seemed to understand what I was saying. I hope their shop will do well.
Later my teenage daughter and I went shopping. I just knew that would be a disaster as we sometimes have a different ideas when it comes to fashion. Today's fashion seems to dress our young people too old and, well, slutty. I don't like it one bit. Anyway, we had a good time shopping and we agreed on several things. All in all it was a really awesome day spent with my family. I celebrate our time together and I'm so very grateful for it. Spending time with my family makes me ....

Blank Note Cards

I don't create and design note cards as much as I should. For example, I received so many Christmas presents from people and I still have not finished giving out thank you cards.
At one time I thought that if I could design and create my own, I would get it done quicker.... wrong!
There is something wonderful and personal about designing my own cards but it doesn't make the process go any quicker. In fact, for me it slows it down a bit because I have so many choices. When I have something in mind, however, the process is not slow.
Anyway, I make 3 3/4 inch by 3 3/4 inch note cards with the matching envelopes. I will make them available in my Etsy shop.
These wonderful cards are just the right size and just in time for Valentines Day. Maybe you can have your children design and create their own cards this year. I love when we are asked to use our imaginations. It's a healthy thing :)
I hope you like my sample picture above. I do have loads of fun designing and creating them. It helps me....

In my crafting area I made a lovely accessory for my very stylish daughter. She loves to wear Ugg Boots. I think the name says it all but taste is relative. Anyway, she loved the jewelry I made.

Wonderful, Wonderful. Oh So Wonderful My Love

I have really been digging the online game of Second Life recently. I've been hanging out and getting so motivated, inspired and recharged.
"Your head feels so good when you finally clear it.
If I saw a worry I wouldn't go near.
Come on kid, let's hear it for me"

I could sing this so loudly today and really mean it!

What a way to start the week right? Anyway, I have been doing alot of everything and catching up with everyone. I have really done well with making my lists of things that I need to do and sticking to them. I have decided not to put things on my list that I know I won't do. Believe me, it's best to start out like you can hold out.

Hanging out in the online game of Second Life seems to trigger all sorts of creativity and peaceful thoughts which clears my head and seems to work for me.

The longer I live the more I realise what makes me happy and what does not. Staying positive works for me and staying in a peaceful place really promotes clear thinking.

Dry Wax Bags

I was inspired by Bona on You Tube to make these wonderful treat bags. While hers was made of glassine, mine are made of dry wax bags. I find them easier to work with. You can stamp on them and overall they are easier to alter. I added a few die cuts and there you are.
What fun that was. Now I am off to fill the treat bags with lots of lovely treats.
I am selling these bags in my etsy shop. Feel free to contact me or go to my shop to get these wonderful bags. If you would like for me to put a kit together, let me know that too.

It's Cowl Good

I have really enjoyed my Christmas holiday break. I found comfort and relaxation with family and friends. Hours were spent sharing quality time with my husband, reading books and ..... knitting. A good friend of mine taught me to knit during my lunch period. I have been trying to accomplish it ever since. During such time I have designed all sorts of things to include my own scarfs, cowls, snoods, and capelets.
Now, I know there are loads of cowls out there. There are enough patterns out there to knit until the Cowls Come Home. I love creating them in the round and with the seam.
When I created my cowl with a seam I realized I needed a button. So I created my flower buttons. It's made out of felt. I love them because you can mix and match them, and move them from one place to the other.
Instead of sewing a seam for a cowl I can just add a button. It is so cool to me. Creating just makes me feel great and helps me ....

Merry Christmas

It's been a while since my last blog. I have been doing alot of some things and very little of other things.
Here the weather is getting cold and winter is on it's way. Part of me enjoys the change of seasons but there is the part of me that really dreads the long winter months that seem to drag on and on.
What makes it all tolerable is the holiday season.
With loved ones gone and new memories to be made, I find joy with friends and family.
To all who are trying to get through the season, believe me I understand. Holidays are difficult but I urge you to find something positive and hold on to it.
You will get on with the wonderful bits of life if you just seek what the holiday season is really about.
I will continue to post more holiday greetings.
In my second life, I am sooo very happy my favorite designer, Julia Hathor, has recreated her winter sim. She is absolutely the best artist I know and her work in the online game of Second Life proves my point completely.
I so enjoy visiting her sim and most of the time, I just stare in awe.

Still Real

I was working on The Adventures of Viv Writer today. I love writing these adventures. They really seem to write themselves at times.
In this episode Viv is still trying to move on with her life with Arden. Unfortunately, memories of Chase still haunt her.
While she knows she is blessed to have Arden in her life she still remembers her life with Chase. The good times she had with Chase still make her happy to think about.
Where does that part of you go when you decide to move on with your life. Do you just turn it off? Do you not think about it anymore? That is not what Viv wants to do. She wants to remember Chase. Because her decision is to keep Chase alive in her head, she lives in conflict with the past and future.
Lucky for Viv, she has Arden, who loves her and can live with whatever she is going through. He is a kind gentle man who just wants Viv to be happy but even he has his limits.

Those Soft Moments

Last night while strolling along I stumbled across a sweet couple. They were a mature couple and it did my heart well to see them so close in thought and deed.
I tried not to be a disturbance but I fear that is what I was. They politely asked if I would take a seat and join them for a conversation.
How very kind of them but I didn't want to interupt such a lovely scene.
I wanted to hold that lovely, sweet moment in my mind so I could pull it out on days when I needed it most.
I wanted to paint that picture, but alas how do you do that?
My mind went to a song I wrote some time ago. I hope you like it but more than that, I hope you get it.
Enjoy the sights and sounds life sends your way. Paint those lovely pictures in your mind. They will help you....

SL where Imagination is Free to Everyone

I have not posted my thoughts about the online game of Second Life in a while. I am still active there and love being apart of that world. I am still writing short stories. Here is a little something from "The Life Worth Living".

The bedroom is warm in temperature as it is in the luxurious comforts afforded to those who reap the benefits of years of success.

The stripped and floral canopy bed with goose-feathered comforters and the huge pillows only compliment gold satin sheets.

Gary is allergic to goose feathers and consented to take medicine to please his wife. He is also allergic to the liquid potpourri but he really enjoys the scent and finds it very relaxing.

There is a three-step ladder in the middle of either side of the bed. The bed is high for several reasons. One reason is Maxie, their Teacup Yorkie. She was a gift from a fan from Raeford, North Carolina.

As much as the couple wanted to decline the gift, Maxie was too cute to deny.

It was not until Gary and Adel got home did they realize that the dog was not compatible to their home.

Maxie falls into everything. She has been accidentally stepped on; kicked, pushed, and flushed too many times times to count.

Once Adel was holding Maxie while in bed and fell asleep. Gary got in the bed without knowing Maxie was there too. Had it not been for Adel’s keen hearing, poor Maxie's whimpers would have gone unnoticed.

The steps on either side of the bed are far too large for Maxie to climb. The bed is so high up that she has a small puppy bed under their bed.

I enjoy creating and I must give much of the credit to the online game of Second Life because that place inspires me. I feel welcomed to create. Maybe you would like to take a trip and see what it's all about. Who knows? Maybe you too will....

This is my all time favorite music. I remember when my husband and I were driving to New York, we listened to Steve and Eydie the entire trip. We thought we were the new Steve and Eydie. It was a great time.
I have had the dream of seeing them in concert since I was a teenager. Mind you, I have only been to one concert in the whole of my life.
I did have the opportunity to see them when I was in Las Vegas in the 90's but NO it Did Not happen. I still can't believe I didn't see them. It's true that some opportunities only come once in a life time. That was the one time and I MISSED it.
In anycase I love their music and wish I had a video recording of their show. I know it was great.

Coin Envelope Mini Album with tags

I had such fun creating this coin envelope mini album. I used several dies to create this mini and my bind-it-all. The most difficult part was cutting into my graphic 45 paper. I love all of the graphic 45 paper and this series is one of my absolute favorites. I had been saving this paper stack for a long while. I had been waiting for a special project to use it and I think this was the right project. It will be a gift for someone special and I hope it will be well received.

I am not finished with the project yet. I still have the most exciting things to do next and that would be, the tags. I so enjoy creating tags. I have the opportunity to put into practice all the techniques I learned on You Tube University. I really enjoy watching YouTube videos and while the crafters there have no idea how they have inspired my creating, I thank them for their talent.

I have several ideas for the journaling tags. The large tags could be used for photo mats and journaling. I simply, LOVE TAGS!
In my next blog entry I will show some pics of the tags.

My First Tag Swap

Well, I finally jumped in the pool of tag swaps. I have enjoyed making tags for a while now but never challenged myself to get into a swap. Now, I have done it. A major accomplishment. I have already done one and now I have to finish four more. Let me know what you think. The theme is Spring and we have to use ribbon and lace and flowers. I had a lot of fun designing it. I hope the people who get it will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
It is truly something that helps me....

The Lettermen

I had the most amazing night listening to The Lettermen. The sound was more than amazing.
I drifted back, way back in time and just loved it. These men are incredible.
If you ever get the chance to see and hear them, I know you should run to their concert. You will really ....

No Plans

What a wonderful day it was. To begin with, I got to sleep in. That is always a plus for me as I am a late riser. It's Friday, and, well, that's all I need to make a day great anyway.
I did a little scrapbooking shopping and just browsed through all the wonderful creative toys and tools available.
Dinner was delicious and simple thanks to my dear husband.
I continued my evening of bliss in the online game of Second Life where I enjoyed writing and watching my view of the beach from my office window.
My little shop got an update recently and one of the changes was a big window which looks out over the beach. I simply love it. I moved my desk closer to the window and I'm all set.
It is a virtual world and while many don't understand it nor will they ever try to understand it, I have difficulty explaining why such virtual, visual beauty, makes me smile. It does just that and I am happy to have such an inspiration.
I'm off to enjoy my weekend. I don't have any plans and I believe that is the best plan for a great weekend. I hope you go enjoy your weekend and ....

This is one of my favorite songs. This song makes me smile and my heart sing. I suffer with a romantic heart. I am blessed to be in a marriage that I can wake up every morning and say to my dear husband, "Love is you". It's a wonderful feeling and this is the reason I....

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

This has been a wonderful holiday season. I have been around lovely and fun people for which I am truly grateful. I do have so much to be merry about. I only hope that I have given more joy than I have received. I do believe it is a season of giving and joy. I also believe it shouldn't end with Christmas day. Maybe instead it should be the beginning and we renew it every year. How about that?
I know for many this time of year is stressful and there are bad feelings in the air. That is truly unfortunate as I believe the holidays symbolize the opposite of that. We all know it but sometimes don't execute it in our thoughts, words, or deeds. Well, I'm not going to get up on a box or anything but I would like to just say to those who feel stressed or anything bad, go be still. In your stillness find a peace that you enjoy. Go forward with that positive peace. In just moments you will....

Too Cute

This has got to be one of the best presents I have ever gotten in the online game of Second Life. My dear friend, Julia Hathor, gave a group of us a wonderful present. Each year she gives the group a present and they are without fail great creations. This year, however, she has out done herself. These "Love Prairie Dogs" are just adorable. The animation is perfect. In the animation he holds mistletoe over her head and gives her a cute holiday kiss. I've always raved at how wonderful Julia is as an artist and designer. This gift that she gives just continues to make my point.
Julia, if you read this today, thank you so much for taking the time to think of your friends and thank you for sharing your true, unmatched talent. You are truly someone who helps others....

It must have been

Let's kick off the season with a wonderful song I enjoy hearing every year.

I went to visit my dear friend, Julia Hathor. Her winter, holiday sim is the very best EVER! I feel wonderful that I have been able to enjoy her work for the past couple of years. I am always happy to visit her sims but the winter sim really trips my trigger. She has the best skating. I feel like a world class skater, well, in the online game of Second Life. I can dream can't I?

Anyway, I have said time and again what a talented artist Julia Hathor is. She has never failed to bring such wonderful design and artistry to all of us who visit her sims.

You are the best Julia, hands down!

Go visit and you too will....

The Holidays are Coming

Yes, the holidays are just around the corner. I have been planning the big dinner in my head for a little while now. I suppose it's time to actually "do" something now.
I'm not really looking forward to the holidays this year but ready or not, here they come. I was not always able to relate to those who didn't look forward to such a lovely time of year but now I can. I am going to try very hard not to fall into the "black hole" that could only lead to bad news. To keep myself up, I plan to do things that please me and my family. What makes me happy is baking cookies. So, if you have any great cookie receipes please send them. Just know that when you send them you put a smile on my face. I try every receipe that comes my way. Now, they don't all turn out well but I give it my best shot. Sometimes they actually turn out well.
Here's hoping for the best so that I will ....

This is ONE of my all time favorite movies. Here is just a clip of the movie. One day I hope to own the dvd.

When I first saw this movie I feel instantly in love with the characters and the theme. It is a brilliant story and I hope you have the opportunity to one day experience it. They simply don't make movies like this anymore. Too bad really. On the bright side we have this so let's celebrate and ....

Singing to the Moon

This is a beautiful song by Matraca Berg. I was introduced to it in 2008. As I was writing an episode of, The Adventures of Viv Writer, this song popped in my head. It was very inspirational. It just seemed to capture the mood and tone of the episode. If you get an opportunity to visit the online game of Second Life, drop by my shop and pick up an episode or two of, The Adventures of Viv Writer. They are a joy to write and writing them helps me to relax and....

JAZZ HANDS

This is one of my favorite production numbers. I saw the original on Broadway with Ben Vereen. I was amazed! He amazed me!

It was not until years later that I would see him again in a one man show. It was amazing! He amazed me.... again.

What happen to production numbers like this? Do answer that. I actually know the answer.

Raven Hollow

Well, it's Sunday night again and guess what? I have to work in the morning.

Many others are off because of Columbus Day but not me. I have to work. Oh well, I'll remember this when I have two months off for the summer.

I dropped in on my friend, Julia, today. She has such great sims. Because it's the month Halloween is celebrated I just knew Raven Hollow would be the place to go. I was right. It's as spooky as ever!

I love it here. It's Elegant Fright:) The birds in the trees remind me of the movie, The Birds. Remember that one? The houses Julia builds in the online game of Second Life are so wonderful that I wish she could build one like this one for me in real life. She gives such attention to detail. I have seen others try but they really do pale in comparison.

Well, I have been inspired by Raven Hollow so I must go and create! I love creating. It just makes me ....

Another Week

It's been another interesting week. It didn't start off great and to be honest, I've been through better Fridays but anytime I have time to spend with my family and "be still", I'm happy.
It's early in the a.m. and I am up, while my family is enjoying a peaceful rest.
I took a nap when I got home so I'm up and ready to go.
I ventured into my favorite online game, Second Life. What is great about Second Life is that my friends from all over the world are up and ready to spend time with me. We chat and have a grand ole time.
As someone once said, "It's 5 o'clock somewhere".
I continue to write and create in rl and in sl. I really do have a great time and it is not uncommon for me to feel guilty for the joy I feel. I get over that and continue to have fun. I think I really enjoy shopping for creative crafty things. Since coupons have come into my life I have this idea in my head that every store should offer coupons. I really don't like shopping without coupons. When you purchase something for 50% off, you just feel GREAT! I do!
Anyway, I'm gonna work on some boxes tonight. I'll take some pictures and show you. I think I might put them in my etsy store as kits. I simply love boxes, tags, and cards.
Go make something great and ....

Just another one of those Mondays

Hey everyone! It has been one of those strange Mondays. What is really eerie is that I felt it coming on. I had a restless night and didn't think it would be a good day.
As I am writing this, I think, well, maybe it was not a good day for me because I didn't get a good nights rest. Hmmmm. Could be?
Anyway, it was a long day filled with problems I had to solve. I hadn't had one of these days in a while and I must say, I could do without another.
I can't say I ever really liked Mondays but I never really dreaded them either. Now, we have meetings on Mondays. That is a real drag as we work all day and and then sit down to a meeting. How fresh can your brain be?
While I am venting, I must say in the same breathe that I am still grateful to have a job that I do enjoy. I am so very happy to do a job I love to do and can do.
It's alright to vent but a reality check is also in order too.
I have really enjoyed escaping to my virtual online game, Second Life. I really enjoy my friends and love when we share stories and experiences with each other. It's a great place and I would highly suggest it to only those who can handle virtual worlds. There are many virtual worlds to choose from. Second Life was the one I was introduced to and probably the only reason I stay there is because I was first introduced to that world. Many of my friends are not only in Second Life but they are in another virtual online game called, InWorldz.
To me they are extremely similar. I have set myself up in a proper shop in Second Life and really don't feel a need to venture into other worlds right now but who knows, maybe I will feel differently later on today or tonight.
Anyway, I enjoy the whole premise of virtual worlds and the good they provide for creative artists and people who just want to talk to other people and share experiences. Now to me that is diversity!
I hope your Monday was better than mine and that you continue to....

It has been awhile...

Well, yes it has been awhile since I have blogged a thing or two.

I have been doing a load of things. From creating mini albums to playing with my bags, tags, boxes and more.

I have had loads of fun "doing" things. I can't say, however, that any of this has benefited anyone but me. How very selfish of me right? Sorry:(

Anyway, the Fall Season is upon us here and I love the look as the leave change colors.

Are we rejoicing in the death of the leaves because the spring will bring us new life.

I think it is wonderful that we celebrate all the seasons. Especially if you consider not everyone can celebrate all the seasons. There are some who only have one, maybe two.

As it is, we don't have much of a winter where I live but it is just enough of it to get ones attention.

As far as my writing, I have had much success with this and if I am not anything else, I must say I am persistent. Maybe, I just enjoy writing and that's where the fuel is.

Well....

Well.
"Now that's a deep subject", my good friend would say.
Today, is hot and most of the visitors around the lake have gone home. We still have a few and it's great to see and hear the children having fun.
I am a great believer that no matter what, kids will find fun. They have such great imaginations when undisturbed.
I have been using my inner child to create so much this summer. I am currently working on several theatre scripts at the same time. It's WONDERFUL!!
It's always fun trying to keep up with my own ideas:)
Anyway, I am on a bow kick now. I have made so many hair bows that I had to force myself to stop.
I also have a puzzle mini album I am creating and will put up in my Etsy shop soon.
My Etsy shop is doing better than I expected. There are several of you out there that enjoy my "Onesie" chipboard mini albums. I think I will make some "Onesie" card baby announcements. I actually saw some in Wal-mart yesterday and thought, I could make that a bit better. We'll see.
Well, back to my work and fun. I suppose I will go play in some oil, canola oil that is. I am going to try and make some fried potatoes. This dish has been very difficult for me to master. It's fairly simple. Actually it's SIMPLE. I just can't perfect it. It's either to greasy or too dark, or just not good. I want to make the perfect golden potato discs.
I am armed with a new 5lb bag of russet potatoes and a great cutting knife so here I go again. If I get this right I will....

Happy 4th of July!!

Well, I am here at the lake and we are having a wonderful time celebrating the 4th of July!
The celebration really began Friday and continues today.
I have several wonderful neighbors here and one in particular is a great cook.
She shared this recipe with me and it turned out great! This speaks volumes for me because while I can read, the dish does not always come out the way it should.
Anyway, this dish came out great and I was tickled pink about it.
You simply combine all of the above ingredients in a big pot and let it cook. Let's see now, the ingredients include, chicken breast, in a can, Texas Pete Wing Sauce, cream cheese, and blue cheese dress dressing. It's easy peasy:)
Put everything in one pot. I start with the cream cheese and move on from there. Once everything is in the pot and is melted and hot, it's ready. There is one very important thing to remember. Do not add the liquid from the cans of chicken breast. If you do, your dish will be "runny". This is easy to resolve if it does happen to you. You can do one of two things or both if you prefer. You can let it cook longer, so the extra liquid cooks out or you can add more chicken breast meat so it won't be so runny
Have a wonderful 4th and....

July

I can't believe it's July! Oh my, please don't let the summer go so fast.
Many of my friends are preparing for the Christmas Holidays. I know it makes sense but it just seems to rush things a bit much for me.
I am watching old Maude episodes. I really think they are funny. The writing is sooo good.
I am going to hop on over to the online game of Second Life. It's just something that make me....

Sunday, June 27, 2010

It's a beautiful day and believe it or not it's not HOT. I love it when there is a balmy breeze.
I love to open the window and let the breath of air blow through.
I spent a large part of the day looking out of my window at the beautiful water.
The other part of the day was spent editing my work. I am so bad at editing. It takes so much out of me to get things down on paper. When I get it out, it is so refreshing but when I read back through it, it's not exactly what I had in mind. Has that ever happened to you?
Anyway, enough time has passed that I can look at it with "new eyes" and pick up on things that need to be reworked and/or added.
I add all kinds of notes to myself. I got tickled at one note I left myself, several months ago. It said, "Fix this".
Well, I must make a quick run to the store to get more ink.
Let the days breathe of air blow over you so you can....

Lazy Days of Hot Summer

I had an awesome day today and I have nothing to show for it. I slept late because I was up late. I have no idea of what is going on in the world as I have nooooo television or radio. I do have the Internet but I have chosen to stay away from all things negative today.
I have created wonderful crafts for Children's Church, my mini albums, and last but certainly not least, The Adventures of Viv Writer.
My adventures went to a lovely place today. I must be the most romantic person I know. I love being in love, I love writing about my characters who stay in love and going magical places that I only dream of going.
Viv and Arden are in Ireland today. I have always dreamed of going there. I would love to see the green meadows, and fields in Ireland. Thanks to The Adventures of Viv, I can travel to those places and create wonderful stories.
The online game of Second Life is still perking. I love to sit and watch avatars do what they do. It's such a wonderful place to visit. I know my favorite creators are busy working on projects. Stay tuned and I'll take pictures of some of the summer creations seen in the online game of Second Life. They are just a few things that help me....
